Molecular Analysis Service

We can assist you in the structural analysis of your molecules using various advanced technologies such as nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), mass spectrometry (LRMS), infrared analysis (FTIR) and purity analysis (HPLC). The platform is equipped with a RMN Bruker AVANCE-400 MHz spectrometer with a BBI probe. We can proceed with the registration of spectra to assist you in determining an unknown molecular structure or in the more complete characterization of a molecule.

1. Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR)

The laboratory has a Bruker NMR available for different types of experiment, such as:

  • Multi-nuclear experiments: 1H, 13C (APT), 11B, 31P, 51V, other nuclei on request
  • Two-dimensional homo/heteronuclear experiments (NOESY, COSY, HSQC, HMBC, ROESY, TOCSY)
  • Variable temperature experiments

Pricing*:
  • 1H RMN: $30/sample; APT $60/hour (for a maximum of 3 hours billed)
  • 2D experiments: $60 for a maximum of 3 hours billed/sample for data acquisition, and $60/hour for data treatment

2. Mass Spectrometry (LRMS)

The laboratory has a Shimadzu LCMS-2020 mass spectrometer. The device is provided with DUIs and APCI probes for the ionization of a wide variety of products. In addition to assisting the laboratory medicinal chemistry professionals in their research, we are able to offer a service that determines the mass.

Pricing*:
  • CHU academic price: $30
  • CHU academic price for over 10 samples: $15

3. HPLC Purity

Our laboratory has a liquid chromatograph Shimadzu Prominence UV detector. The system is coupled with an LCMS-2020 mass spectrometer. It enables us to provide purity testing either by UV detection or mass detection. This service is tailored to the specific needs of the applicants and is available to CRCHU de Québec researchers as well as to external researchers.

Pricing*:
  • CHU academic price: $100
  • CHU academic price for over 10 samples: $50

*For external researchers, we invite you to request a quote.
